Student Visa Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • Completion of +2 (Higher Secondary Education)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 or above
  • All academic transcripts and certificates

Language Requirements:

  • JLPT N5 certification (Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
  • Language school acceptance letter

Documentation Process:

  1. Document Translation:
    • All academic documents must be translated to Japanese
    • Translation must be done by a certified translator
    • Original documents must be notarized
  2. Document Submission:
    • Submit translated documents to the selected institution
    • Some institutions require physical document submission via courier
    • Keep copies of all submitted documents
  3. Certificate of Eligibility (COE):
    • Institution will apply for COE on your behalf
    • COE processing typically takes 2-3 months
    • You will receive COE through your institution
  4. Visa Application:
    • Submit COE and required documents to VFS
    • Complete visa application form
    • Pay visa application fee
    • Attend visa interview if required

Application Timeline:

  1. Complete +2 education and obtain required GPA
  2. Study and pass JLPT N5 examination
  3. Apply to Japanese language schools
  4. Attend school interview if selected
  5. Prepare and submit required documentation
  6. Wait for COE issuance (2-3 months)
  7. Apply for student visa at VFS

Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Visa
